Impact

Fed. Built.
Healed. Connected.

Advancing society and strengthening communities is the mission. These four words are what it looks like on the ground.

Our mission is to advance society and strengthen communities. On the ground that means four things: people fed, things built, people healed and places connected. That is the test we apply, alongside the return.

We are an investor, not a development institution. But the infrastructure and services a community depends on are also the businesses worth owning for a long time, and we are content to be judged on both.

The four

What advancing society
looks like on the ground.

Fed

Food grown, processed and packaged in the country rather than imported into it.

Agriculture

Built

Factories, materials and the physical fabric of a growing region — capacity that stays here.

Industrial Manufacturing · Construction & Real Estate

Healed

Clinics, diagnostics and medicine closer to the people who need them.

Healthcare & Pharma

Connected

The networks the rest of the economy runs on, from telecommunications and payments to the freight that moves goods.

ICT · Logistics

The enablers

And what makes
the four possible.

Three more sectors sit behind the others. On their own they are good businesses; together they are the reason the rest can grow.

Financed

Ordinary credit for the small and medium businesses that employ most people.

SME Finance

Taught

Schooling, higher education and vocational training — the skills every other sector depends on.

Education

Powered

Reliable and cleaner power, which changes what every other business is able to do.

Oil, Gas & Energy

Why it matters

What the region
needs most.

Employment

Too few people in the region are in formal, private-sector work. Businesses that grow and hire are the most durable answer to that, and they are what we fund.

A broader economy

An economy resting on a single commodity is exposed to a price it does not set. Every business built outside that dependence makes the region steadier.

Made here

We favour businesses that produce in the country rather than import into it, because capability built locally stays local.

Access to finance

Most small businesses here operate without access to ordinary credit. Closing that gap is part of what we are for.

Commitments

What we hold
ourselves to.

We would rather state what we commit to and report against it than publish a figure we cannot yet stand behind.

Employment

We report on jobs created and sustained across the businesses we hold.

Local hiring and training

We expect our businesses to recruit and train locally, and to promote from within.

Standards

The same standards of conduct, safety and treatment apply across the portfolio, wherever a business operates.

Reporting

We publish progress annually rather than case by case, so the picture is complete.

Not-for-profit activity

The group operates both commercial and not-for-profit activity. [Placeholder — describe the not-for-profit arm, what it funds, and how it is governed separately from the investment portfolio.]
